Nice post. Yes I agree high heels are very trendy and in fashion. But I must say one should look for good brands and some sort of secure structures when going for high heels.

My humble advice would be; Buy shoes that fit, Prefer leather shoes instead of synthetics because leather is more forbearing. Be careful about the pointy-toed, high heels. It is best to avoid really high heels. I think chunky heels are much more stable than stilettos. Aim to wear a wider, more supportive heel or even no harm to convert to platforms.

No doubt fashion is important but your feet are very precious after all, so take a little bit precautions when selecting shoes for these.

Don't forget to clean the dirt from your computer that you can't see either.
If your computer is running slowly or programs are crashing, then maybe it's time to think about installing a <a href="http://www.vistaregistrycleaner.co.uk"Vista Registry Cleaner</a>

Hello Jenny

I am curious as to if there is any medium in the The Matrix for advertising. If so, i would love to advertise my business, which is geared towards helping college students find items they need faster! let me know! Thanks!

This whole thing sounds juvenile and unprofessional, on both sides. The issue seems to have gotten very complicated for no reason. It's a school newspaper, just report whatever happens at the school or issues affecting students. It's pretty much that simple. It sounds like the guy they hired is an ass. "Real World?" They are not in the "Real World" yet, they are just practicing for it so cut them some slack. You know, it really isn't what you say, but how you say it (as an adviser) - that can make all the difference between constructive criticism and a hostile workplace.

I also am unsure of your anger. I am certainly not saying it is not justified, but I your article gives no indication of what sparked the whole controversy. What are they trying to censor? Maybe a little more explanation would help?

I just stumbled onto the Matrix site and I have to say, I don't see exactly where you and your staff have grounds to be upset enough to resign. As far as your trip to Savannah, why would you guys expect to be reimbursed for your travel expenses? The school provides us with vehicles and gas money at no extra charge to us for whatever trips we as students choose to make, so of course we wouldn't get reimbursed if we choose to take our own vehicles. Your advisor's attitude and conduct was not in any way professional, but that alone does not seem to be enough of a reason to resign.

One point that I think you guys seem to be missing is that even though you may have raised the ad money on your own, the Matrix is still not independent of Macon State. You are an organization under Macon State College, and therefore still accountable to the administration. Once you guys can completely support your own staff, printing, and equipment, then you get to do whatever you want with that money. Other clubs and organizations raise hundreds of dollars on our own fundraisers, money that does not come from the school, yet what we choose to spend it on still must be approved by our advisers. And since part of the money I pay to attend Macon State is going to the Matrix and other clubs, I do not feel comfortable with students of ANY organization being allowed to operate without administrative supervision.

And I'm curious as to why you even want to buy more bins. I see stacks of papers sitting in the existing bins on campus for days before they're noticeably depleted. I don't think it's any mystery where we can obtain a Matrix paper, we just usually choose not to do so. If you can't distribute the papers you do print, why do you think you need more? And if the students on campus don't read our own paper, what makes you think people in the community will?

And as a current Macon State student, I don't see the Matrix as a forum to voice my opinions. I see very little in there that even interests me, so that makes me even more reluctant to pick up your paper. Granted, I have absolutely no journalism experience, but it seems to me that the articles that make it into the paper are on subjects that staff members are personally interested in. How about heading over to the other side of campus (i.e Jones Building) and see what interests other students? There are many nursing, biology, math, respiratory, and other science based majors who have very little in common with the current content being run. A perfect example was the insect coloration lecture given several weeks ago by Dr. Burns. It was a great lecture, attended by students, faculty, and people in the community. I know it's a subject that's not personally interesting to you guys, that's why you're not biology majors. It may completely bore you to tears; I feel the same way in English class. But if you want to be representative of the ENTIRE student body, then you need to cover topics that may be outside your personal interests.

As far as lectures about the "real world", that's part of what good advisers do. They take the knowledge that we learn in our ivory tower of education and teach us how to apply it in real life situations that may occur in our field. All our knowledge that we learn in school doesn't mean squat if we can't understand how it works in the real world. Now, there are good and bad ways of going about that, but I'm sure the intent is all the same.

As far as "standing up for what students believe to be right", that is my purpose in posting this comment. I have not found the Matrix to be in any way interested in the opinions of students who are not involved in campus media. Macon State as a whole is experiencing growing pains right now, and it affects all of us. But I think the Matrix would be best served by its staff stepping out of their collective bubble and get to know the students outside of their offices.

The career fairs always seem to cater to the traditional student population. The student population is leaning toward the non-traditional direction and if you want more attendance, you will have to have hours more condusive to that population. Of course, do more advertising too!

There are precise instructions posted about accessing MyPortal and Email from a laptop using wireless on campus. You are not allowed to use the "guest" wireless login and the help center located outside the library can assist with the set up of this. As far as fowarding email the portal task force simply needs to aquire and publish the POP server login information and you would be able to download your email from several email services such as google, msn, or even a local copy of MSOutlook.
